Safely connected: continuous design for a mutating city

چکیده

The renewed interest in the quality of public space is fostered by need to regenerate parts modern city and improve environmental conditions urban centres. Major changes due recent economic crises, ICT technologies current pandemic are posing new challenges rethinking design approach terms mobility, health, safety, communal life. This paper aims at highlighting a attitude spaces which reinterprets these issues, also indicating possible scaling up other contexts. Accordingly, it presented experience recently completed international research project aimed transforming French centre into an open-air market. Done through pedestrianization streets encouraging multimodality multifunctionality services, simultaneously enhances ability interpret needs inhabitants leverages their sense community.
